Info Post
.
Just a few impressions about this interview. Yes, it was a nice suprise for Christmas. Yes, it's always a pleasure to see Angela on TV. But as it often happened lately, the interviewers are not very well prepared and we hear the same questions again and again. And that ultimate question "where is home for you" that each journalist has the feeling he/she is the first one asking it. Tonight Angela answered this question before being asked, like knowing it will come. Same old stuff. I don't get why the journalists bother so much to dig into the personal life forgetting to ask about the professional one. at some point Angela said "I know what I will sing in 2014". The next question could have been "what?". But no. Mrs Fantanaru simply said "wow". Come on! I understand her emotions as she declared she is a big fan. But people are interested more in the guest, not in her inner feelings.
.
There were also a couple of questions that didn't get an answer and for a couple of seconds Angela was speachless. Well, there was an answer, but an avoided one. A story to cover it. You'll read the translation and understand.
.
There was one thing unique in this interview. Angela said that the reason she dropped out from Carmen at the Met was Roberto. She wanted to separate their careers and it wouldn't have been fair to ask him to drop out. As far as I know this is the first time she says it publically. There were rumours, but nothing directly from her.
.
Don't get me wrong. I'm glad I saw Angela again. She's willing to talk but it's the talent and the experience of the interviewer that turns a regular interview into a brilliant one. Remember the one at Profesionistii in Spring? That interview had a story. Eugenia Voda imagined a script for a movie and no matter where the conversation lead to she kept saying "going back to our movie...". It this way the script had a beginning and an end.
.
And the first part of the interview. Not a very good sound, but you'll get the idea.
