.I had the pleasant surprise to discover these pictures well hidden in the archive of La Fenice , the Opera House in Venice, Italy. Angela Gheorghiu did Traviata in Venice 13 years ago. There were 10 performances, from May 18th to May 30th 1996 and they were held at PalaFenice Tronchetto because La Fenice was completely destroyed by fire on January 29th 1996. Angela starred in 5 of them according to the poster. The singers were accompanied by the orchestra and chorus of Teatro la Fenice, conducted by Nello Santi and Maurizio Barbacini.
