.
I rushed to Borders to buy the magazine. Without internet connection available, this was the only choice. And the best one. There is a short interview in the magainze. Angela says that “this was one of the most wonderful experiences I have ever had".

.
The editor of Gramphone Magazine says in the editorial that “it has been an amazing year for recordings, perhaps stronger than last year”. There has been taken into consideration new releases drawn from the beginning of June 2008 to the end of May 2009. It was a long list of 500 recordings which the specialists reduced to six discs in each of the 15 categories. The music “was consumed, evaluated, discussed and finally voted upon”. There is a winner for each category. The public could vote for “The Artist of the Year”, the rest of the winners being given by the Gramophone’s editorial team.
.
The other awards went to:
• Nikolaus Harnoncourt – for lifetime achievement
• ECM – label of the year
• Classic FM Innovation Award – the cooperation between ROH and The Sun that united to give the newspaper’s reader discounted tickets to Don Giovanni.
• Yuja Wang – Young artist of the year
• Purcell-The Complete Fantazias/Fretwork – Baroque Instrumental
• Handel-Coronation Anthems/The Sixteen – Baroque Vocal
